Eric N. Shelly, DMD
Dr. Shelly is native to Lancaster County, PA, where he honed his technical and artistic skills in his father’s machine shop while working as a machinist growing up.  Those experiences enabled him to appreciate the meticulous attention to detail that is required in the dental profession.  He later attended Franklin & Marshall College where he received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physics.  He went on to the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine where he was awarded his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry.

Always determined to stay on the cutting edge of the profession, Dr. Shelly has added Oral Sedation dentistry to his repertoire, thus enabling him to provide the highest level of care to all patients, including patients that are fearful or anxious about receiving dental treatment.  Dr. Shelly obtained his license by completing a hospital based clinical rotation in sedation dentistry at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Patterson, New Jersey.  Additionally, he has trained through the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS) and the American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry (ASAAD).  Dr. Shelly has transformed the experience of going to the dentist into a pleasurable one, and provides an environment where each and every patient is treated respectfully and safely while restoring their dental health at the same time.

Dr. Shelly has earned his Fellowship in the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS) as well as the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).  His other affiliations include the International Association of Orthodontics (IAO), American Dental Society of Anesthesiology (ADSA), American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesiology in Dentistry (ASAAD), and he is currently the incoming President of Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry and is serving on the National Out Reach Task Force for the Pennsylvania Academy of General Dentistry (PAGD).  In his free time, Dr. Shelly’s civic mindedness is exemplified by being a devoted member of the Exchange Club of West Chester, having served as both President and Treasurer of the local chapter of the national service organization.

1Margaret Lee, DMD
Dr. Lee obtained her undergraduate degree from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. She later obtained her Doctorate in Medical Dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Lee is originally from Northern New Jersey, but relocated to the West Chester area sixteen years ago upon completion of a hospital based General Practice Residency at the Hospital of Veterans Affairs in West Philadelphia. Dr. Lee began her private practice career in 1991 when she and her husband, Dr. Shelly, purchased Dr. Robert Platt’s practice in West Chester after his retirement. Together, they have grown immensely in both scope of practice and number of patients under their care with a continued focus on quality patient care.

Dr. Lee has spent the last several years honing her skills in periodontal surgery, implant restorations, and removable prosthodontics through countless hours of continuing education and independent study. She is tireless in her pursuit of the most up to date and technologically sound practices, and is devoted to providing the best care available with the best resources at her fingertips.

Dr. Lee devotes a significant portion of her free time to the Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue, where she is an active foster for dogs as they transition to new homes. She also helps run RudyDog Productions - a company that makes greeting cards featuring the rescued pups from Brookline. Dr. Lee and Dr. Shelly also have three Labrador Retrievers of her own: Oakley, Zeppelin, and Dakota.

1 Eric Fort, DMD
Dr. Fort was born and raised in West Chester, PA. He received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Penn State University in 1999. Dr. Fort is a 2003 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. While there, he also earned a Masters of Education in Higher Education Administration as he would like to pursue teaching at the professional level in the future. Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Fort was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. After completing Officer Indoctrination School in Newport, R.I., LT Fort completed a one-year hospital based General Practice Residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. From there, he was assigned as the Dental Department Head on USS WHIDBEY ISLAND (LSD-41) from June 2004 until June 2006. During his time spent onboard he participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom as a forward deployed operational unit supporting both Sailors and Marines in the Persian Gulf. His ship was also an integral member of Joint Task Force Katrina in support of hurricane relief efforts in the gulf coast region, which included providing dental care to numerous displaced citizens.

Dr. Fort’s transition to private practice dentistry began with a return to his hometown where he begin working with Dr.’s Shelly and Lee in 2006 and became a partner at West Chester Dental Arts in 2008. Dr. Fort is currently involved in various community associations and outreach programs throughout Chester County. These include offering his services at Community Volunteers in Medicine where access to care is provided to the underserved population of the local area, as well as a member of the Community Relations committee of the Chester County ARC. Dr. Fort has earned his Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). He has embraced his role as a private practice dentist, and relishes the opportunity to practice his profession in his hometown where he shares his life with his family.

Hygienist

Maria Abraham, Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH
Maria is a 2003 graduate of Neumann College with a degree in Early Childhood Elementary Education. Although she loved teaching, she felt that something was missing and wanted something more in her career. She decided to further her education and in 2007 she graduated from Harcum College with an AS in Dental Hygiene. Her favorite part of her new career is being able to make a difference in a patients’ health by educating them on the importance of oral hygiene and smiling confidently. When not at work, Maria loves to spend time with her family, enjoys outdoor activities, and shopping. Among her many degrees, she is also a certified Yoga instructor. All of that aside, she’s very excited to be here and looks forward to meeting you and your hygiene needs.

Katherine Lang, Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH
Katie is from Bethlehem, PA and graduated from Saucon Valley High School. She then went on to West Chester University for Physical and Health Education, when she finally realized that she wanted to pursue her passion in Dental Hygiene. Katie left West Chester and went on to graduate in May 2007 from Northampton Community College with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. She then went on to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology in December 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene with a concentration in Health Policy and Administration. Katie comes from a family of Dentists. Her grandfather was a dentist and now her uncle, father, and brother are all dentists so she always had a desire to work in the dental field. Katie recently moved back to the area and resides in Downingtown. Katie enjoys going to the beach, laughing, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Eryn Horan, Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH
Eryn has grown up in Delaware County where she currently lives in Glen Mills, PA. After high school she went on to obtain her Associates Degree in Communication Arts Applied at Delaware County Community College.  While attending DCCC she realized her interest in the dental field.  Later going on to attend Harcum College where she graduated with her Associates Degree in Expanded Functions Dental Assisting in 2009 and Associates in Dental Hygiene in 2011. Eryn enjoys spending her free time with family and friends taking photographs and listening to music.

Diana Wagner Yarosewick, Dental Assistant, EFDA
Diana lives in Narvon with her husband Stephen and there two Samoyeds show dogs Luca & Zinn-Zinn and their five cats. She has been a dental assistant since 1994 and received her Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) in 2005 from Harcum College. She enjoys volunteering her time on events, educating patients on their dental care needs and choices. She wants to help make your dental visit more enjoyable.

In her free time she and her husband show dogs. She also enjoys, traveling, the beach, shopping, swimming and spending time with her friends.

Maria Faro, Dental Assistant, EFDA
Maria was born and raised in Venezuela, were she practiced as a dentist in her mothers dental office. She moved here in 2006 and has been working at West Chester Dental arts since June of 2009 as an expanded functions, dental assistant (EFDA) and clinical team leader. She is currently going to school for her certifications and to get her degree to become a dentist in the states.

She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys helping patients achieve there dental goals of having a beautiful healthy smile. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband, shopping and traveling.

Marie Smith, Dental Assistant, EFDA
Marie moved to Pennsylvania almost nine years ago and currently resides in King of Prussia. She has been working at West Chester Dental Arts since March 2010 but has been a dental assistant since 2002. She attended Glasgow High School, where she graduated in 1997. After chair side assisting for five years she decided she wanted to further her education and went back to school to receive her license as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (E.F.D.A) where she graduated from Harcum College in 2007. She finds assisting very fulfilling, as it allows her a more "hands on approach" and every procedure brings something new. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, shopping, spending time with her boyfriend, family and friends.

Stefanie Zednik, Dental Assistant, EFDA
Stef has been with the practice since 2000, and currently assists two days a week so she can spend time with her husband and two little children. Stefanie is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) with unparalleled skill and a tremendous grasp of treatment planning and treatment options. Her fifteen years of experience assisting has provided her with the appropriate tools necessary to assist in every capacity including implant restorations and endodontic therapy. She also brings a level of compassion to your treatment that will immediately put you at ease on your way to a beautiful smile.

Yvonne Pasquarello, Dental Assistant, EFDA
Yvonne was born and raised in Delaware County, PA were she currently resides with her significant other Tom. She graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1997. She immediately started dental assisting and decided to further her education and received her Expanded Functions Dental Assisting degree from Harcum College in 2007. She enjoys working one on one with patients to help make their visit feel most comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

In her free time she enjoys reading, pampering her exotic animals and spending time with friends and family.

Malena Walker, Dental Assistant, EFDA
Malena lives in Oxford, PA. with her boyfriend and two small children. She grew a love for Dentistry while having braces and making routine visits to her Orthodontist. She graduated from Oxford Area High school in 2007 and soon after she attended Dental Careers Institute and became a dental assistant. After assisting for two years she decided to further her career in dentistry and received her Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) license from Harcum College in May of 2011. She is fascinated with the possibilities and art of Dentistry and would like to continue to further her education in the field. In her free time, she likes to go out to eat, to the movies and amusement parks. She also loves reading and spending time with family and friends.

Tracy Mooney, Dental Assistant
Tracy has been with the practice since 2002, where she has consistently provided superb dental assisting skills while keeping a smile on the face of the patient's with her irrepressible sense of humor. Tracy will take every opportunity to put each patient at ease as they achieve their dental goals of having a healthy, beautiful smile. Her personality along with her technical skill provides a perfect combination for your dental experience. Tracy's free time is dedicated to her family and friends.

Erica resides in Cochranville, PA. She is a graduate of Penn State Delco with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. She has been a dental assistant since September 1999. Erica loves working with patients and you will automatically feel at ease with her due to her out going personality.

Samantha Scarlota, Hygiene Dental Assistant
Samantha grew up and currently resides around West Chester. She graduated from West Chester East High School in 2005 and recently attended the Dental Careers Institute in September of 2010 and graduated at the top of her class. She is very positive to have found a home with West Chester Dental Arts and is very excited to be part of such a positive team. She is looking forward to making each patient feel comfortable and hopes they leave West Chester Dental Arts with a great experience.

Janelle Myers, Hygiene Dental Assistant
As a native of Christiana, Pa; she graduated from Octorara High School in 2004. She recently found herself interested in the dental field and pursued her passion by graduating from Contemporary Health Career Institute, as a Dental Assistant in 2011. She looks forward to working with patients and being able to brighten their day. She is very excited to be a part of the West Chester Dental Arts team. Outside of work Janelle is a sports fanatic and her two of my favorite teams are the Phillies and Flyers.

Leann Hart, Patient Care Coordinator
Leann has been with the practice since 1996, lending her expertise wherever it has been needed. She is a tremendous asset to the office, using her fourteen years of experience and knowledge aiding patients in their pursuit of dental health. She is constantly reviewing the most up to date information regarding dental insurance policies, and serves as a liaison between the Dr., patient, and insurance provider when necessary. She is also closely involved in the process of providing patients with various options as they pursue the smile of their dreams. Leann is eager to help you in any way she can. Leann has been married since 1991 and enjoys spending her free time chasing after her two sons.

Daphne Willard, Patient Care Coordinator
Daphne has been with the practice since Nov. 2009, she currently resides in her hometown area of Chester County, Pa. with her husband and young daughter. She graduated from Coatesville Area Senior High School in 2000, and has worked in the Clerical Field since. She is very excited to have joined the practice and loves meeting with patients and learning new skills to better her position. It is her wish to provide the best service and care for each patient. When Daphne is not working hard at West Chester Dental Arts, she loves spending her free time with her family and friends.

Marie Vazquez, Patient Care Coordinator
Maries currently resides in Coatesville, PA with her two sons, boyfriend and her dog Taco. She enjoys going out to dinner and movies with friends, she loves spending quality time with her sons. She graduated from Dental Careers Institute in September 2010 with a certificate in Dental Assisting. She is very excited to be working in the dental field and is looking forward to helping patients and learning new skills.

Kelly currently resides in Downingtown, PA with her two daughters and husband. She enjoys dinner and movie night with her husband once a month, along with playing at the park with her two girls. She studied dental assisting at Valley Forge School of Dental Assisting and graduated in 2009. She enjoys spending time with patients so they fully understand what type of treatment they are having done. She is very excited to have joined the practice and hopes to have a great future here at West Chester Dental Arts.

Brandi Thompson,  Patient Care Coordinator

Brandi currently resides in Oxford, PA with her boyfriend Jason. In 2008 she attended Contemporary Health Career Institute in Exton, PA where she received her Dental Assistant Certificate and she started working in the dental field in 2009. When she is not working she enjoys going out to dinner, shopping and being with friends and family. Brandi is excited to be apart of the West Chester Dental Arts team and is happy to be part of dental practice that cares about their patients and is ready to assist you with any of your dental needs.
